Lie Detectors UK Hosts An Advanced Polygraph Course for UK Examiners

Between March 12-14, 2018, PEAK CATC partnered with Jason Hubble, president of Lie Detectors – UK, to deliver advanced polygraph training for private examiners in the United Kingdom. Of the approximately 25 private examiners operating in the UK, the following ten participated in this landmark training:

  • Dr. Keith Ashcroft – England
  • Ms. Sian Devine – Ireland
  • Mr. Ian Duffield – England
  • Mr. Patrick Duffy – Ireland
  • Mr. Guy Heseltine – England
  • Mr. Jason Hubble – England
  • Mr. Antony Keeves – England
  • Ms. Patti Musicaro – England
  • Ms. Norma Phoenix – England
  • Mr. Michael Rumble – England

This course marked the first collaboration between PEAK CATC and UK-based examiners. It offered essential professional development for those unable to travel to the United States annually to fulfill continuing education requirements. Over three intensive days, participants engaged in advanced training sessions, making this event the first of its kind where a polygraph training institution traveled to the UK to provide on-site instruction in state-of-the-art polygraph methodologies. Thanks to Jason Hubble, who also facilitated Lie Detectors UK’s feature on Dating Advice, a suitable venue was secured, and logistics for attendees, including accommodations, were seamlessly arranged.

The comprehensive curriculum covered critical topics, including recent advancements in Test Data Analysis, the application of computer-assisted scoring algorithms, and the interpretation of measurement tools associated with respiration and plethysmograph components. Participants also received instruction on using Directed Lies as an alternative to Probable Lie Comparison Questions, creating Interview Route Maps, applying The Utah ZCT, and employing Directed Lie Screening Techniques. The course also delved into the AFMGQT/LEPET Screening Techniques for multiple-issue examinations, utilizing a successive hurdles approach.

The dedication shown by the attendees deserves recognition. Their commitment to spending three full days away from their polygraph practices to enhance their skills and stay current with best practices exemplifies their professionalism and devotion to advancing the field of polygraphy.

A special thanks to Jason Hubble for his initiative, coordination, and hospitality in making this event possible. To the attendees, your enthusiasm and commitment to learning were inspiring. You have my utmost admiration for your dedication to the polygraph profession.
