Most enquiries involve a specific issue that conversations haven’t resolved. This may be a relationship accusation, missing money, a false allegation, a family dispute or a workplace concern.
A polygraph test works best when there is a clear factual issue to examine. Before booking, we review what has happened and whether lie detection testing is suitable for the questions you need answered.
Lie Detectors UK doesn’t have an office in Reading or elsewhere in Berkshire. Our established offices are in Maidstone and Sevenoaks.
Sevenoaks is the closer of the two, while Maidstone is further into Kent. For many Reading and Berkshire clients, arranging a suitable private venue locally may be more practical than travelling.
We’ll discuss the options for your lie detector test in Reading before anything is booked.
Your polygraph examiner begins with a private pre-test consultation covering the circumstances and what you need the test to answer. The questions are discussed in advance, with the exact wording agreed before testing begins. There are no surprise questions during the actual test.
During the polygraph exam, the polygraph instrument records physiological responses including breathing, heart rate, blood pressure and changes in skin conductivity. These responses are recorded while you answer the agreed questions. The examiner then analyses the test data to assess whether the responses indicate deception. Allow around two hours for a standard appointment, including the consultation and polygraph examination.
Your polygraph results are explained on the same day. Every test also includes a full written report after the examination. An inconclusive result is possible where the physiological responses don't provide enough information for a clear outcome.
We arrange lie detector tests for clients across Reading and Berkshire, including Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead and Newbury.
We’re not claiming to operate branches in these towns. Depending on the case, your Reading lie detector test can be arranged at a suitable private venue or at one of our established offices.
A matrimonial lie detector test can focus on a specific concern such as suspected infidelity, hidden contact or another disputed event.

Where someone denies a false allegation, a detector test can focus on the specific claim rather than broader accusations. Polygraph results aren’t legal proof and won’t be presented as such.
Where money or property has disappeared, polygraph testing can focus on the specific incident rather than everyone who may have had access.
Where an issue involving a partner or family member comes down to a clear factual question, a polygraph examination may help provide clarity.
Professional polygraph services may also be considered for workplace or business investigations where consent, confidentiality and the specific allegation require careful consideration.
